Obituary for Daniel J. "Danny" Holt
“Danny,” as he was fondly referred to, was born, September, 3rd 1956, in Omaha, NE. His loving parents were James and Joanne (Scherer) Holt, who preceded Danny in death.
Danny graduated from Dundee Community High School, in Carpentersville, Ill., in 1975. He proceeded to attend WYO Tech in Laramie, WY where he earned a degree in Diesel Technology.
After graduation, Danny joined the Marine Corps, and honorably served his country for 4 years. He was stationed stateside, as well as Korea and Japan.
Danny was a “jack of all trades,” as there was not a job he could not do. With that, he was always an extremely hard worker and was not afraid to tackle any project needed.
Danny got into flooring installation, and eventually began a business with his best friend, John “Jay” Rutz. The two worked together for many years until Danny moved to Wisconsin to start his own business. He ended his career in the trucking industry, traveling all over the country.
Danny was known to all of us as a gentle soul, who exuded kindness and caring. His family and friends were extremely important to him, and he cherished the times spent together. Danny will be missed by all, but as he would say, “Life is good!”
